Yes! We offer a 30% academic discount to full-time students or educators who use our plugins as tools in their teaching. You will need to provide proof of your identity, and documentation confirming your current full-time enrollment or employment as a music educator. We request that you send your application from your school/university email address whenever possible.

Please note: Our academic discount cannot be combined with other discounts; such as bundle discounts, intro offers, and sales.

You can submit your application here. All applications require our manual verification. Upon approval (usually within 48 hours) you will receive a discount coupon for use in the Tone Projects shop.

No dongle is required to run our plug-ins. No restrictive challenge/response system either.

We use simple serial numbers to unlock the plug-ins. When you purchase a Tone Projects product, you'll receive an automated response within minutes containing your user-name, serial number and download link for the installer. That's it! Simple, quick and flexible. You'll be able to unlock your plug-ins on new computers as long as you store your user name and serial number.

Yes! The license you have purchased is your personal license, meaning that you may install the program on as many of your computers as needed, provided that the program is used on only one computer at a time. If you share a computer and another engineer will be using the plug-in as well, then you'll need two licenses.

The Unisum trial is time-unlimited but restricts session recall and loading/saving of user presets. A subtle noise burst is added to the output every so often. If you save a project with the trial version you will be able to restore the session with a licensed version.

The trial versions for our legacy plugins (Sonitex and Compadre) are fully functional for a 30 day period, except for the insertion of a gentle beep/noise burst at one minute intervals and a slightly higher CPU usage.

As you may have noticed, the trial versions cannot be unlocked. You need to download the full version to unlock your plug-in.

We offer free trial versions of all our plugins for you to test before deciding to make a purchase. However, you may request a full refund of your purchase before you activate the plugin license provided that you request the refund within 14 days of the initial purchase date by contacting us here.

If you have purchased a plugin bundle, you must return the whole bundle within 14 days of purchase before you activate any plugin in the bundle in order to qualify for a refund.

Unfortunately, we are currently not able to support license transfers, so you cannot sell or transfer your license to another user at this time.

There are a few technical reasons why this is currently not possible with our fulfillment partner. We do however really want to support license transfers and we are working on getting a system in place to handle it. There is no exact time estimate on it yet, but once it’s ready we’ll make the information and process available here on our website.

The "My Account" section on our website is only used to access download links and license information for products you already own. You don’t need an account to purchase, or to download and use any of our trial versions.

If you’re looking to buy or download a plugin you don't already own, simply proceed to checkout from the product page. Once the checkout is completed you will automatically get an account registered to the email address used during checkout. You can then later log in to your account to access all your products.

It's a good idea to use the same email address when purchasing several products. That way, all your products will be available from the same account.

If you need to change the email address registered with your account, please reach out to us here.

We request that you write to us from your currently registered email address. If that's not possible then please include other ways for us to verify your identity as the license owner; e.g. your original order number, a photo of your driver's license, or similar.
